Blog Post #6 - A Second  Educational Tool  Sphero Mini Hello again! For my last post, I am going to present a second educational tool - the Sphero Mini. Librarians can definitely include the Sphero Mini in their Makerspace area.  I hope that you will enjoy the presentation I created below.

Bongiorno_Cameron_Blog post #5: AI

Artificial Intelligence      Hi again! In Module 9 this week, we learned more about Artificial Intelligence (AI). I admit that I am not that familiar or comfortable with AI and have only used it a few times in the past. For example, I have used ChatGPT to help me better understand assignment instructions from previous professors in our program. I copied and pasted the instructions from the syllabus or module and asked ChatGPT to put them in simpler terms and more concrete steps. The few times that I have done this have yielded very helpful results. I was pleasantly surprised.      Since I have limited experience with generative AI, I wanted to try out one of the exercises presented by Ethan Mollick in the YouTube video for this module (Global Silicon Valley, 2024). After I finished viewing the video, I first visited the website www.moreusefulthings.com that Mollick provided at the end of his lecture. Looking through the many prompts he...

Blog post #4: Assistive Technology         Hello all! I really enjoyed learning more about assistive technology and Universal Design in Module 7, and I was excited to come across Coverveil - a digital tool that “adds a color filter over your screen and over any application you are using” (East-tec, 2025, para. 1).   Name and link to tool: Coverveil   https://www.east-tec.com/colorveil/ .   I was interested in finding such a tool, as two siblings at the middle school where I worked last year relied on a plastic overlay on top of their computer screen. I believe Coverveil will be a valuable tool for them – one that does not require them to carry along a separate plastic sheet, and one that is easily customizable to their color preference. I think that it could be a game changer for them!   How to locate, access, and use Coverveil: -  ...

LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set      Hi again! I selected the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set as the technology hardware I wanted to examine for its teaching and learning capabilities. Since my eldest daughter is a member of her high school robotics team, I was able to get access to this set. Her team uses LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Sets in their community outreach programs to teach coding to elementary and middle schoolers. Since I honestly did not have any idea what this set was all about or what it was capable of doing, I first did some exploring on my own at  SPIKE™ Prime – STEAM Set - Grades 6 - 8 | LEGO® Education . The Product Description on that webpage states : The LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime Set, part of the LEGO® Learning System, is the go-to STEAM learning kit for grade 6-8 students. Combining colorful LEGO building elements, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language based on Scratch, the SPIKE Prime STEAM set cont...
